And in “things I didn’t know I wanted until right now”news, we are going to be getting a flash/supergirl musical episode.
Arrow/Flash/Supergirl executive producer extraordinaire Greg Berlanti talking to indiewire said, “I have a few ideas for tone and style in my head but we’re just starting to talk about what that can be. I do want to try and get an original piece of music written. As we make a deal on that we’ll probably make some announcements on the original songs.”
Both Melissa Benoit and Grant Gustin both got their starts in Glee and have great voices so this feels like the most natural pairing for a musical episode. Following in the footsteps of shows like Buffy, Fringe and Scrubs, having a one-off musical episode makes a show episode and who knows if they’ll have a villain/alien/meta-human being the sinister reason behind Jimmy Olsen belting out show tunes but hopefully this is part of DC’s move to bring some fucking levity back into their comic book shows.
Super girl is coming to the DC/CW universe this fall in a three-hour crossover special so carve out the time and bring a notebook to keep up!
