There have been a small slew of articles on who Rory ends up with (are you team Dean, Jess or Logan) but for a girl so focused on her career, it’s daunting to wonder how successful professionally a thirty year old Rory Gilmore will be.
When we last saw Rory Gilmore on our screens she was ready to follow Barack Obama on the campaign trail as she forged her own path as a journalist.
Transforming from the quiet bookworm wallflower to the spunky well-read intelligent woman who broke up with her boyfriend to forge her own path, Rory Gilmore was the ultimate mid-00s role model to all the girls who couldn’t quite relate to the Paris Hiltons and the Nicole Richies.
Now almost ten years later Rory Gilmore returns back to Stars Hollow, less sheltered and less sure of herself.
Amy Sherman-Palladino, the creator of the show has given us a hint of what’s to come:
“It’s this idea of, you hit [your 30s], you did everything right – you went to college, you had the good grades, you worked really hard — and yet somehow life isn’t turning out the way you wanted it to turn out.”
After we’ve been given a sneak peak at the first page of the revival, it shows Rory Gilmore returning home from some far off location with Lorelei accusing her of being “Gooped” due to how effortless she looks.
Rory had always been certain she was going to make a career for herself as a journalist. Maybe she finally got that job as a foreign correspondent only to be fired due to cutbacks.
We also have seen pictures of Rory in the revival, at Chilton (maybe it’s Stars Hollow High idk) in front of a blackboard that seems to be a lesson about Jane Austen. As Rory always loved books maybe she’s imparting her knowledge on future generations, or maybe it’s a temp job while she works out her love life.
