Heather’s reboot casts it’s leads

The Heather’s TV adaptation is gaining full steam as it casts it’s two main leads.

Previously played by Winona Ryder and Christian Slater in the 80s dark comedy, J.D and Veronica will be played by James Scully and Grace Victoria Cox.

James Scully has previously done theatre including an Off-Broadway play based on the Columbine killings and Grace Victoria Cox is known for her work in sci-fi thriller ‘under the dome’

The pilot which is due to be filmed in the fall directed by sleeping with other people writer Leslye Headland.

The Heather’s tv show is a reimagining of the 80s classic for modern audiences with the pecking order inverted, Heather McNamara is a black lesbian, Heather Duke is gender queer and Heather Chandler is overweight. How this will work as TV show is  beyond me.

The TV show is scheduled to be filmed within the next few months and has the potential to be a hit, if they do it right

Fun Fact:

Apparently the original film was supposed to be directed by Stanley Kubrick and Brad Pitt originally auditioned for the role as J.D
