Fantastic Beasts: So where is Dumbledore?

As Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them comes onto our screens, we’re hearing a lot of details of what’s to come.

The movie Fantastic Beasts will follow Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) in an American adventure as his case of magical beasts are unleashed on New York City in 1926.

Movie details have been coming out this week, including the casting of Johnny Depp as dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald. Previously played Jamie Campbell Bower, coincidentally the two starred together in the Tim Burton of Sweeny Todd.

Although not confirmed for the first Fantastic Beasts film, we  expect Albus Dumbledore to pop up in the next instalment of the what is envisioned to be a five part series. At a recent press event JK Rowling told Variety:

“You will see Dumbledore as a younger man and quite a troubled man…We’ll see him at that formative period of his life.”

Dumbledore would have been forty five in 1926 and would have already been a teacher at Hogwarts for about ten years. And would have already taught the Hufflepuff Newt Scamander when he was at school, we’re wondering who exactly is going to be cast in the huge role and how much he will be in the next few films. But overall we can’t wait to see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them when it hits cinemas next week.
