Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Plot reveal

If you’d told someone twenty years ago that there would be five films centred around a mildly popular ride at a theme park you would have been laughed out the room.

But here we are, in 2017 about to get the fifth instalment of Pirates of the Caribbean. Starting off as a one-off film in 2003 it solidified the star status of Keria Knightley, Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp. And it’s still going, Pirates of the Caribbean has evolved into a completely new beast and here is the official synopsis for the plot:

“Johnny Depp returns to the big screen as the iconic, swashbuckling anti-hero Jack Sparrow in the all-new “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.”

The rip-roaring adventure finds down-on-his-luck Captain Jack feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazer (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea – notably Jack.

Jack’s only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it he must forge an uneasy alliance with Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry (Brenton Thwaites), a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy.

At the helm of the Dying Gull, his pitifull small and shabby ship, Captain Jack seeks not only to reverse his recent spate of ill fortune, but to save his very life from the most formidable and malicious foe he has never faced.”

Opinions were mixed for Pirates of the Caribbean 4 it proved to be a box office success and regardless of plot for this one it seems that it will be a success. Noticeably the trailer for the movie has no Jack Sparrow in it although his presence is certainly felt…

So what do you think of the new Pirates of the Caribbean, will you be watching?
