Riverdale: A Sabrina revival?

Ok, so we’re already a little obsessed with the new Archie comic adaptation Riverdale. As a noir-small town drama, we’ve got murder, we’ve got mystery, we’ve got love triangles and Cole Sprouse, what more could you want?

Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

That’s right, most people know Sabrina from the sitcom starring Melissa Joan Hart but she’s been a part of the Archie-verse since the 70s. Only the original Sabrina was slightly spikier than the bubblegum Sabrina we all loved in the 90s.

Although no confirmation on any magical element to Riverdale, we do know that a Sabrina will be popping up in at least one episode in a way you won’t be expecting.

Executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa said…

“I’ll just tease that Sabrina has potential with a capital P,

And with Sabrina being a favourite it could mean a reboot would be in the works more in the vein of the comic book series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina which has a couple more edges than the 90s series.

The CW is a notorious breeding ground for spin-offs so assuming Riverdale takes off we could easily mean another teenage witch series.

    I didn’t even think of that, even with the inclusion of other famed Archie-verse spinoff Josie and The Pussycats in Riverdale. A Sabrina inclusion would make sense and could take the show into some weird places that could be really cool.
