Crazy Ex-Girlfriend ‘Josh is the Man of My Dreams, Right?’ Review

West Covina is hit by the Devil Winds and it’s completely fucking everything up. With weird dreams, a Jersey Boyesque narrator and George’s revenge Crazy Ex-Girlfriend turns the energy up 100.

Rebecca feels conflicted about her upcoming wedding to Josh begins to develop weird feelings towards her boss Nathaniel. Maybe a sign of Rebecca’s self destruction or the fact she isn’t really happy with Josh. Or it’s the show poking fun at rom-com tropes or it’s all three.

Paula and Darryl go off and finally have a side-story and a great heart to heart. Their friendship is criminally underrated and it’s nice to have them interact. Even when things go sideways as most Darryl’s plans do when he invites Scott to the restaurant.

Nathaniel goes into his first solo, an Ed Sheeran ‘Let’s have intercourse’ and it’s fucking hilarious dance number that feels like a very 21st century boning anthem. And is also incredibly weird work-place sexual harassment. Inevitability redeeming him through Harry Potter (btw Rebecca is a total Slytherin.)

Rebecca freaks out after the kiss between the two in the elevator and decides to move the wedding date up as much as she can. 2 weeks.

Rebecca is spiralling at an almost uncomfortable rate as she tries to make the same dream she’s had since she was sixteen work nearly two decades later. And in this way, Greg’s presences on the show is truly missed, no one else would be able too call Rebecca out and have her truly listen.

The show does let Paula and Scott get back together in one of the more grown-up moves. She decides that she misses him and would rather have him back than worry about what everyone will think about her.

Rebecca ends still conflicted and happily ignoring her own problems as her and Josh are happily ignoring the major problems in their relationship I envision a runaway bride situation at their wedding although at the moment I can’t tell you which one will be doing it.
