The That’s So Raven spinoff is officially gaining steam as it’s been announced the Disney Channel show will be called ‘Raven’s Home.’
Although we know that Raven-Symoné and Anneliese van der Pol will be reprising their roles of teen-psychic Raven and best friend Chelsea.
The original series ran between 2003 and 2007 as one of the most well-loved shows on the Disney Channel. Now over ten years later Raven looks to be returning home as a single mother moving in with Chelsea as her twin boy and girl inherit her mystical power.
In a statement released last year, Walt Disney productions officially confirmed the returning collaboration of Indiana Jones in its fifth installment but fans are already wondering if this will be Harrison Ford’s last foray into architecture.
Alan Horn, Disney Chairman stated
“Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019, It’s rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.”
Announcing it’s intended release for the summer of 2019 it’s unknown whether it’ll continue in a linear order (2008 fever dream, Crystal Skull was set in the late fifties so eleven years later it’d be on the cusp of the seventies.
Fans have speculated that the final Indiana Jones will end with Indie’s demise, no doubt fuelled by the recent death of Harrison Ford’s other iconic character Han Solo.
But in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter Speilberg did confirm that…
“The one thing I will tell you is I’m not killing off Harrison at the end of it.”
At the same time, there have been several rumors over the years that Disney are looking to reboot the franchise meaning this could be the last time we see Harrison Ford in the role but not Indiana altogether.
Disney Channel actress Debby Ryan is moving on up with a role on the new CW pilot ‘Insatiable.’
As a lawyer named Bob, decides to quit his job to become a Beauty Pageant coach (like you do) and Debby will be playing one of his first clients, Patty.
Patty will be a previous fat girl, who loses 70 pounds and gets a jaw alignment who hires Bob and maybe is out to seek revenge as well.
The wacky world of Beauty Pageants have proved excellent fodder for reality TV and rom-coms but this will be the first one hour drama to centre around them.
Joining the same network as her former co-star Cole Sprouse, Insatiable looks to be a great breakout vehicle for the former Disney star.
A hit movie, Oscar-nominated song and now a TV show under her belt before she turns eighteen, Auli’i Cravalho is the definition of #goals.
Now the actress who came to global fame as Disney Princess Moana is going to be heading up the new musical pilot for NBC.
Drama High by Michael Sokolove tells the true story of one of the most famous high school theatrical programs in America and the teacher that has shaped the lives of thousands of students. Presented as ‘Glee meets Friday Night Lights’ it’s easy to see how this could translate into TV. Auli’i will be playing one of the students and no doubt the show will incorporated into the show.
No word on a series order just yet but with the minds of Hamilton and Friday Night Lights behind it, Drama High will not doubt become one of the most hotly anticipated shows of the next year.
Yes Raven Symone will be reprising her best known role as Raven Baxter in the hit Disney channel show That’s So Raven.
That’s So Raven was Disney’s longest running show in Disney channel’s history going from 2003 until 2007. And already inspired one spin-off about Raven’s brother Corey.
The new show will star Raven Symone- who will be leaving her spot on the View- as a divorced mom of two pre-teen children, one of whom may have inherited their mother’s psychic abilities…
Adam Bonnett, Disney’s EVP of Original Programming praised Raven Symone in a statement today:
“Raven’s brilliant style of fearless comedy was a driving force for Disney Channel’s success around the world. We now have our eyes on the future with her, and we’re looking forward to telling more stories for a new generation with an adult Raven Baxter raising her young family.”
That’s So Raven will be joining a long line of reboots including Girl Meets World and Full House and like a million comic book reboots. Although we don’t know who in the main cast is returning we’re excited too see this early 00s comedy come back into our lives!
We can’t believe one of our favourite disney shows premiered nine years ago today. Back when Selena Gomez was just fourteen years old and no one had ever heard of Justin Bieber (those were the days) here’s a look back on nine things we missed first watching Wizard’s of Waverly Place
Wizard’s of Waverly Place was the longest running show in Disney Channel history and it had the most watching finale.
Prior to the show airing Selena Gomez was initially lined up to take part in a Lizzie Mcguire spin off about Miranda Sanchez
Joe Jonas originally auditioned for the role of Justin Russo that later went to David Henrie. The two were supposed to be twins in the original series as well.
David went on to actually wrote two of the episodes Alex’s Logo and Meet the Werewolves.
The show was originally supposed to take place in Ireland and was called the The Amazing Hannigan’s and Selena Gomez’ character was supposed to be called Julie Hannigan
After the show ended each of the Russo siblings got to keep their wands, Greg Sulking got to keep his werewolf teeth
Demi Lovato’s, Dallas sister was supposed to be a regular on the show but was cut in the pilot. Ten years beforehand Demi and Selena met on the set of Barney and Friends.
Jennifer Stone who played Alex’s best friend Harper is now a budding playwright and is working on a new movie “The Perfect Night”
Todd J. Greenwald the creator of the shop had the Hardware store in the show named after him.
The Tennessee born popstar has achieved many things in 23 years on the planet, tv star, movie star, head of a charity and successfully transitioned from disney kid to fully fledged superstar.
Now she and fiancé Liam Hemsworth are working on writing a play together said to be a ‘dramatic love story’
Maybe she’s drawing inspiration from her own life and their own passionate relationship which started in 2009 when the two of them starred in the Nicholas Sparks movie “The Last Song.” since then they’ve broken up, got back together and are said to be writing the play together.
Cyrus who has plenty of musical writing credits in the past seven years and even writing her autobiography in 2009 called “Miles to go”
Although we have to wonder where she’s finding the time currently playing a weed dealing hippy in the Woody Allen series for Amazon “Crisis in Six Scenes”, heading up her charity “Happy Hippy” and mentoring contestants on The Voice.
Cyrus definitely isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
A young woman, chosen by the sea sets out to find legendary demigod Maui. Sorry that’s Maui, shapeshifter, demigod of the wind and sea (and hero of men) to help protect her home against the great danger that is coming.
There are several symptomatic features of a traditional Disney film, family (although Moana seems to have a full set of parents), she’s spunky and she has a ridiculously cute animal friend (voiced by Alan Tudyk)
Dwayne Johnson takes up the helm of Maui, a funny and albeit pretty quirky demigod he and Moana don’t get on immediately.
Even in the trailer the real stand out for the movie is definitely going to be Auli’i Cravalho, the wily and fearless voice behind Moana, a driving force within the film and no doubt a le model for all the girls who want to be Moana growing up.
No word on Girl Meets World being renewed for season 4 and as the cast comes together for the season 3 possibly mean that we’re saying goodbye to the Matthews family.
The traditional Disney sitcom usually lasts about 4 seasons and as Disney’s audience is between the ages of 2-14 so Riley Matthews and her gang are no longer really relevant to the channel.
Boy meets world spin-off seemed to have some trouble finding it’s footing between nostalgia and it’s new audience, striking the right balance between familiar faces and it’s core cast.
Rowan Blanchard and the rest of the young cast have enjoyed the rising profile of being disney kids and have also been the least controversial generation (so far).
Fans of the show have voiced their desire for the show to move to Freeform (formerly Abcfamily) and allow the show to grow with it’s audience.
